Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Deputy SENCO
Hello I am Gemma Jackson and I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to be the new manager of Chelford Pre-School. I myself went to the Pre-School maybe 33 years ago when it was in the village hall and I loved it then and my son loved attending the Preschool too. It really is a special little place for the children to grow. I am mum to Obi who attended the Pre-School. I am passionate about supporting children through their educational development and have been working with children since 2008. Over the years I have been a Teaching assistant, a One-to-One, worked in Nursery’s, Pre-Schools, Breakfast Clubs, After School Clubs and Holiday Clubs. I am a qualified level 2 & 3 Playworker and a level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning. I was previously the manager of the wrap around care and joint manager to the Pre-School at Nether Alderley School. For the past seven years I have been working at Terra Nova School working across the Nursery, Reception and Year One as a Teaching assistant aswell as the manager of the After School and Holiday Club there. I am really excited about working with all the children and being part of such a great team at Chelford.
I am a mum to two boys. I have a CACHE Level 2 and 3 in Childcare and Education and I am the deputy designated safeguarding lead. I have recently become the 2 year old co-ordinatior for the setting. I have lots of experience working with children and children with special needs of all ages over the years.
I started at Chelford Village Pre-School in June 2013. I have 3 children and have always worked with children in some way. I have a CACHE Level 3 in Childcare. I have also ran the Peover Toddler Group as well as working as a dinner lady at Peover Superior.
I live in Chelford and started working at the village pre-school in March 2016. I have always wanted to work with children and really enjoy the school environment. In 2012 I completed a level 5 teaching qualification. I have a little boy called Dexter who also attends the school.
Working with children is a new career path for me and I love every minute of it. My son attends Chelford Village Preschool and my daughter attends Chelford Primary School. I run the Chelford Toddler Group on Wednesday mornings.
All staff are Paediatric First Aid trained.
